These classes are provided free to those who have purchased their new machine from Hayes Sewing Machine Company. Please ask any Hayes employee which class or classes apply to your machine. You must register in advance. You may register by phone or in person. You must bring your machine or Serger, except for software classes. Basic supplies needed are machine, cords, accessories that come with machine, instruction book, notebook and pen, and thread. We will provide fabric kit. Hayes Sewing Machine Company welcomes Babylock, Bernina, and Singer customers who have recently purchased their machines elsewhere to join our machine instruction classes for the fees listed by each class. Girls Night Out Quilting Classes

Come and join us for this NEW type of quilting class. Leave husbands and children behind, and join likeminded quilting enthusiasts for a fun and creative Friday evening. The projects chosen are created with either jelly rolls or quick cut methods so your time will be spent sewing rather than cutting. Each class is 6 hours long, ending at midnight. Bring your sewing stuff and the caffeine, and we’ll provide the pizza!

Quilting Instructor, Debbie Brown

A seamstress from her youth, Debby transitioned into quilting while expecting her first child. Thirty years and thousands of quilts later, she is an award-winning quilter who has published quilts, patterns, articles and columns in major quilting magazine, and authorized 2 books. She teaches at national and international quilt shows, has filmed HQ Sweet Sixteen instructional dvds and has taught multiple machine quilting classes on Craftsy.

Debby is obsessed with the precision of ruler quilting on domestic, sit-down and long arm machines and spices up those lines with whimsical free-motion quilting that appeals to quilters of all skill levels.

Begin with a basic design from a stencil, a ruler or template, and applique, a design in a piece of fabric, or even a shape you draw yourself—then transform and expand that design from basic to spectacular. Add extended and secondary designs, repeats, fills and special effects. Learn marking techniques and tools for applying designs to quilt tops.

Are you frustrated with your serger? Is it still in the box? This class is designed for you! Bring your serger (you will need to know your make and model when you sign up) and learn the basics. How to thread, overcast, seam, how to sew knits, gathering, and how to use differential feed, and rolled hems (if your machine has them). Class size is limited, sign up soon. Your serger must be in working order and complete. You MUST bring it in before the day of class to have it checked by us.
